Scholarship Winners
Jennifer
Factor has worked for the past five years in the Member Service
Department of Concho Valley Electric
Cooperative, Inc. in
San Angelo
,
Texas
. With the understanding and support
of her CVEC family, she made the difficult decision to return to school.
Jennifer wants to earn her degree in Electrical Engineering.
Her goal is to return home to an electric cooperative.
To her there is no greater affiliation than that of a Co-Op.
Becky
Anderson and her family are members of Wood County Electric
Cooperative, Inc. and TREWA. Becky
is going to
Northeast
Texas
Community College
to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.
Drew
Baker and her parents are members of South Plains Electric
Cooperative, Inc. Drew will be
attending
South
Plains
Junior College
in the fall to major in nursing. After
completing two years at South Plains she will transfer to Texas Tech or West
Texas A & M to get her BSN Degree, so that she may pursue a career in
pediatric nursing.
Kacie
Christenson and her parents are members of United Cooperative
Services. Kacie is attending
Texas
A & M
University
working toward a Poultry Science Degree and plan to go to Veterinarian school
to become a Poultry Veterinarian.
Megan
Stapleton and her parents are members of Sam Houston Electric
Cooperative, Inc. and TREWA. Megan
will be attending
Sam
Houston
State
University
to obtain a B.S. degree in music education and continue her studies and earn
her master’s and doctorate in music education.
Clair
Collins and her parents are members of Sam Houston Electric
Cooperative, Inc. After graduation,
Clair will be attending the
University
of
Texas
at
Austin
to study pre-medicine with a minor in Spanish.
In ten years Clair sees herself as a successful non-workaholic doctor.
Julie Gray
and her parents are members of South Plains Electric Cooperative, Inc. and
TREWA. Landscape Architecture is a
dream in the making to Julie and best describes the path that she will follow
attending

Plains
College
. Julie plan to get an Associates
Degree before transferring to Texas Tech to complete her degree in Landscape
Architecture.
April
Morris and her parents are members of Wise Electric Cooperative, Inc.
and TREWA. April is attending
Tarleton
State
University
, and upon completion of her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education,
she wants to return to teach in a rural community school in the Wise county
area.
Elizabeth
Ballew and her parents are members of Rio Grande Electric
Cooperative, Inc. and TREWA. After
graduation
Elizabeth
will attend
Texas
A & M
University
to study Civil Engineering and eventually earn a Master of Architecture degree.
Her plans include helping modernize existing structures in impoverished
areas, such as the Texas/Mexico border.
Amy Turner
and her parents are members of Big County Electric Cooperative, Inc. and TREWA.
This fall Amy will attend
Hardin
Simmons
University
to study Pre-Med and hope to work in one of several medical offices in
Abilene
to gain experience and to help narrow her choice of medical fields to pursue.
